JNF Plans First-Ever Mission for Women Only
No Men Allowed!

1November 10, 2006 -- New York, NY -- Looking to provide a once-in-a-lifetime, unique and unforgettable experience while enhancing the level of involvement of women across the country, Jewish National Fund (JNF) has just announced its first-ever all women's mission. The "Queen of Sheba Women's Tour: Israel Through Tears and Laughter" will take place from May 26-June 2, 2007.

With over 100 years of experience as caretaker of the land of Israel,no one knows Israel better than JNF. JNF missions, arranged through JNF's Travel and Tours Department, allow you to see a side of Israel that other trips don't, going above and beyond the classic tourist experience. The Queen of Sheba Mission looks to do one better than that.

The week-long trip that excludes husbands, kids, and boyfriends promises to be an emotional and moving experience that centers on meeting with Israeli women and through them delving into the different angles and aspects of Israeli life and society. The list includes high school students, women soldiers, women pioneers, women designers, women chefs, businesswomen, bereaved mothers, and just ordinary women who daily make a difference for Israel and its future.

2Traditional sites will be visited as well and include Yad Vashem, the Kotel, and Hula Valley. But the group will also visit the burnt forests up north, hear how the security roads on the northern border make a real difference in the lives of the people who use them for safe travel, visit an inclusive park and meet with the female architect who designed it and hear what it means to accommodate the handicapped, meet Bedouin women, and experience Shabbat with an old Jerusalemite family.

Of course fun is on the itinerary as well and belly dancing, karaoke, delicious dinners, and shopping will be part of the women's only experience. Accommodations are at five-star hotels.

"We want this group of women to feel Israel in a woman's way as only a woman can," said Talia Tzour, JNF's only female emissary and one of the organizers of this mission. "This is all about women from one side of the world experiencing life as our sisters do on the other side of the world and soaking up the many ambiances of Israel. And never fear. We promise, what happens in Israel stays in Israel."
