Over the last few years, Israel has made a much stronger push towards success in the athletic world. From Israel’s baseball team coming in fifth at last year’s Olympics to winning six medals in the last two Summer Olympics, Israel’s profile on the world stage has been raised. Now, with the help of their incredible Olympic athletes, Israel is making its mark on the winter Olympics too. Listen in as Host Steven Shalowitz sits down with AJ Edelman, Captain of the Israeli bobsled team, to discuss his journey to his first Winter Olympics in Korea in 2018, the surreal experience of being an Israeli representative on such a massive stage, and his hopes for the future of Israeli winter sports, especially bobsledding.

AJ Edelman is an Israeli Olympian and Israel’s first sliding sport Olympian. He is now the captain of the Israeli bobsled team. A lifelong athlete who started out as a hockey goalie, he is now a five-time Israeli national champion who aims to raise Israel’s profile in Winter Olympic sports. Equally important, he’s a Modern Orthodox Jew trying to inspire Israelis and others to accomplish the impossible.
