Atlanta’s Philanthropic “Wonder Women” to Celebrate Israel’s Independence Day at Festive Reception

DUNWOODY, Ga., April 21, 2022 — On Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 11:00 am ET, Jewish National Fund-USA will host its third Beyond the Blue Box Speaker Series event for female philanthropists in Atlanta and the surrounding communities at a venue in Dunwoody, Georgia. The annual Women for Israel Luncheon to be held in recognition of Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day, will celebrate the power of Israel while simultaneously celebrating the philanthropic impact of the wonder women in the Atlanta-area Jewish community who are passionate about ensuring a prosperous future for the land and people of Israel and Jewish people everywhere.

The event’s keynote speaker, Hannah Eyal, is a crypto-Jew and Portuguese psychologist who grew up Catholic without any connection to Israel or Judaism. After a trip to India at the age of 25, where she met Israelis for the first time, Eyal began an unexpected journey of discovering her family secrets; leading her to learn of her Jewish history, dating back to the Spanish Inquisition. Today, Eyal is a practicing Jew living in the land of Israel against all odds.

“Hannah Eyal will share the incredible story of her rediscovered Jewish roots and highlight just how powerful the Jewish identity and ancestral connection to Israel is and how it’s an integral part of who we are, even if we are completely unaware of our heritage,” said JNF-USA Executive Director, Greater Atlanta, Beth Gluck. “Join us to celebrate our shared connection that can never be broken, while also celebrating Israel’s 74th birthday.”

The event will honor longtime Atlantan and dedicated community volunteer, Marsha Spector, CFO of Front Row Seats LLC, and member of Jewish National Fund-USA’s Women for Israel Steering Committee as JNF-USA’s Woman for Israel 2022.
