Young philanthropists in San Diego celebrate Chanukah with JNFuture

Nearly 50 young professionals came together at a private residence where they networked with other local Zionists and learned how JNF-USA partners (donors) play a direct role in keeping the land and people of Israel safe by aiding its heroic first responders.

“Over the years, JNF-USA has been a primary partner to the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority — outfitting Israel’s firefighters with state-of-the-art lifesaving equipment such as oxygen tanks and fire-retardant suits, firefighting vehicles, and fire station facilities,” said Event Chair Jordan Rosenberg. “We have also invested in enhancing and rebuilding Israel’s Volunteer Firefighter Program, which trains and provides safety equipment and gear to volunteers who serve as the first line of defense in the remote communities of Northern and Southern Israel that are difficult for authorities to reach in a timely fashion.”

Attendees also heard from guest speaker, Yedidya Harush, JNF-USA’s Halutza Liaison for Negev Community Development who discussed JNF-USA’s crucial work building communities and strengthening firefighting capabilities in Israel’s Negev region.

The young philanthropists raised enough money at the event to sponsor a uniform for Israel’s Fire and Rescue team, which will help them stay protected while they continue to save lives.
