JNFuture Bids Farewell to 2021 with Inaugural Celebration for Young Professionals in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C., December 27, 2021 — Just starting as Jewish National Fund-USA’s (JNF-USA) new JNFuture Campaign Executive in the Mid-Atlantic region, Sean Siegel knows that one of his primary goals is to bring together Washington, D.C.’s community of young philanthropists ages 22-40 in support of the land and people of Israel. On Sunday, December 19, that mission kicked off with nearly 50 of D.C.’s young professionals attending the first-ever in-person JNFuture event in the nation’s capital.

Like-minded Zionists from the millennial and Gen Z generations gathered at Saint Yves, one of D.C.'s most sought-after venues to network and enjoy great music and delicious cocktails and food. Attendees also learned about JNF-USA’s critical environmental and nation-building activities in Israel’s north and south, and how through its One Billion Dollar Roadmap for the Next Decade, JNF-USA is developing new communities in the Galilee and Negev, connecting the next generation to Israel, and creating infrastructure and programs that support ecology, individuals with special needs, and heritage site preservation.

“JNF-USA is truly making a positive impact on the lives of every Israeli, and it’s an impact that you can see in every project we commit to,” said Siegel. “Our inaugural Cocktails & Connect event was an incredible first step in bringing our community together and seeing what we can all do when we work towards a common goal. I hope to continue expanding JNFuture’s presence in the Mid-Atlantic region while giving like-minded young philanthropists a voice in Israel and a family here in the USA.”

Event chair Nina Cogan added, “I don’t think anyone truly realized how deeply all of us missed being in a community until close to 50 of us gathered together for this event. The sense of togetherness and hope was felt throughout the room. We look forward to JNFuture’s D.C. chapter growing, attending future events, and coming together again in 2022 to support JNF-USA and our work in Israel.”
