Cincinnati to Welcome Hollywood Star Noa Tishby at Breakfast for Israel

CINCINNATI, Ohio, March 2, 2022 — The land of Israel is “the most misunderstood country on earth,” according to Israeli actress, producer, author, and activist, Noa Tishby.

On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, Tishby, who co-produced HBO’s 12-time Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated, and Peabody Award-winning drama, In Treatment, and who was recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential Jews in the World by the Jerusalem Post, will be the keynote speaker at Jewish National Fund-USA’s Cincinnati Breakfast for Israel. The event will be held at the Mayerson JCC.

“So many don’t realize that their freedom, wherever they live, is connected to the existence of a Jewish state and a Jewish military. It is our responsibility to connect these two things,” said Tishby, who was recently included on the Hollywood Reporter's Women in Power list of international executives.

Tishby is the author of Israel, A Simple Guide to the Most Misunderstood Country on Earth. She wrote the book because she could not find a plain-spoken volume to explain Israel’s unknowns and misconceptions. Several local book clubs are reading Tishby’s book in conjunction with this event.

The community breakfast will feature impactful programming that focuses on Jewish National Fund-USA’s vision to ensure a strong, secure, and prosperous future for the land and people of Israel. It will also highlight the organization’s life-changing projects in Israel’s Negev and Galilee regions that will impact the global Jewish community for generations to come.

“Jewish National Fund-USA’s unparalleled support for Israel is fueled by great dreams and vision, and the Cincinnati community, together with our fellow partners (donors) nationwide have helped make miracles happen,” said Event Co-chairs, Barb Miller and Morry Wiener in a joint statement. “We look forward to seeing the bright smiles of our friends and neighbors at this long-awaited occasion.”

The event is free and open to all community members. Register at jnf.org/BFIOhiovalley or contact Eric Goldstein, Executive Director, Ohio Valley at egoldstein.cinci@jnf.org or 513.794.1300 x780.
