JNF Boruchin Center

JNF Boruchin Center

In June 2015, Jewish National Fund-USA announced the creation of the $100 million Jewish National Fund-USA Boruchin Center, designed to be one of the most powerful new initiatives in the Jewish world. The center, administered within Jewish National Fund-USA by a committee of Major Donors , was created as a result of an estate gift generously given by the late John and Dora Boruchin of California. Read about these lifelong Zionist, whose legacy gift continues to impact our global Jewish community here.

Jewish National Fund-USA continues to steward the Boruchin’s game-changing gift that was entrusted to our organization. Jewish National Fund-USA distributes funds in accordance with the strategic vision of our organization, enhancing our ability to expand our Circle of Impact on the global Jewry.

Mission Statement

Strengthen the lifelong connection of all Americans, and in particular young Jewish Americans, to the land and people of Israel through innovative and inspiring programming.

Jewish National Fund-USA Grants

Beginning in 2025, Jewish National Fund-USA's will place a strong emphasis on collaboration among grantees. Jewish National Fund-USA's goal is to fund organizations and programs that are interested in collaborating with Jewish National Fund-USA and each other, to both complement the work of Jewish National Fund-USA and provide additional opportunities for Israel engagement and experiences for our shared constituencies. Unlike a traditional foundation, the Jewish National Fund-USA Boruchin Center is creating synergies with and between our grantees in ways that meaningfully accelerate both their own programs and Jewish National Fund-USA’s overarching mission. Given these changes, please note:

  • Applications from a single organization will still be eligible for review.
  • However, we encourage joint applications that highlight collaboration between grantees and with Jewish National Fund-USA. We will focus our grant-making on programs that foster these connections and collaborations.

If you are interested in this partnership, we invite you to:

  • Confirm you meet the grantee criteria
  • Communicate with previous grantees and other qualifying organizations
  • Jointly, or individually,  submit a Letter of Intent describing your organization(s) and opportunities for collaboration that will meet and enhance each organizations’ mission and objectives.

Grantee Criteria

Please confirm your organization meets the grant criteria before submitting a Letter of Intent:

  • Applicants must be nonprofits with active 501(c)(3) status with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service
  • Grant request must be up to 50% of the project budget
  • Project budgets must be at least $200,000, and therefore the minimum grant request is $100,000. For example, if your project budget is $300,000, you can request a minimum grant of $100,000 or a maximum grant of $150,000
  • Grantees must be able to demonstrate matching funds (for a minimum $200,000 budgetary need)
