RABBIS FOR ISRAEL

Rabbi Erez Sherman is the Chair of Rabbis for Israel, Jewish National Fund-USA’s community of rabbis dedicated to supporting the land and people of Israel. He is also a Senior Rabbi at Sinai Temple in Los Angeles, where he creates membership engagement opportunities and builds deep, meaningful relationships throughout the synagogue and school communities. He also founded the Sinai Temple Israel Center Rabbinical School Fellowship, which trains future Rabbis through seminaries across North America on how to engage with Israel in a deep and nuanced manner.

An advocate for disability inclusion, Rabbi Sherman created the KEEN (Kids Enjoying Exercise Now) Basketball Clinic for special needs children and the Sinai Temple Basketball Camp. Rabbi Sherman is also the host of Rabbi On The Sidelines podcast, interviewing athletes about the intersection of sports and faith.

Rabbi Danielle Eskow is the founder and CEO of Online Jewish Learning, an innovative online education program for students from across the world. Rabbi Eskow was selected in the inaugural class of CJP’s 18 influential Jewish leaders in Boston and serves as the leader of Jewber, an organization that provides friendly visits and Shabbat meals to older adults and Holocaust survivors in the greater Boston Jewish community. She is passionate about Jewish National Fund-USA’s mission and purpose and is proud to serve on the Rabbis for Israel Advisory Committee.

Rabbi Berg is the Senior Rabbi of The Temple: The Hebrew Benevolent Congregation, Atlanta’s oldest and largest synagogue. He also serves as a Chaplain for the Georgia State Patrol.

Rabbi Berg serves on many communal boards including the Anti-Defamation League, the Georgia Holocaust Commission, the Islamic Speakers Bureau, and the Board of Governors of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. He was named by Newsweek and The Daily Beast as one of the most influential rabbis in the United States, by Georgia Trend as one of the 100 most influential Georgians, and by Atlanta Magazine as one of Atlanta’s most powerful leaders.  

Dr. Cathie Dorsch is an author and founder of Commission Fields, a non-profit dedicated to faith and Zionist missions, connecting communities to our Hebraic roots biblically and practically through education and service. Her agency operates from Israel to India, while also serving local communities in Arkansas.

Dr. Dorsch has personally supported several Jewish National Fund-USA projects, including the construction of a bomb shelter and a children’s garden at the organization’s Red Mountain Therapeutic Riding Center in Grofit, Israel. She also oversees the Teach the Nations Bible College & Women’s Vocational Training Center in India.

Rabbi Geri Newburge currently serves as a rabbi at Main Line Reform Temple. In her role, she is highly involved with creating connections with congregants, innovating liturgy, social action, youth, and Religious School programming. Before working at Main Line Temple, Rabbi Newburge served as the Associate Rabbi at Temple Emanuel in Cherry Hill from 2003 to 2013. She is a member of the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR).

Rabbi Yosef Weinstock serves as Senior Rabbi of Young Israel of Hollywood-Ft. Lauderdale. He was previously Chapter Director for New England NCSY, and before that served as the Director of Special Projects at the Jewish Family Service in Clifton, New Jersey. Rabbi Weinstock also served as Interim Rabbi of a Jewish nursing home.

Rabbi Weinstock is a member of the Kashrus Committee of the Orthodox Rabbinical Board of Broward and Palm Beach Counties and a Dayan on the Beit Din of Florida that deals with matters of Jewish status. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Rabbinical Council of America and a Vice Chair of the Rabbinic Cabinet of Israel Bonds.
